All Quiet On The Western Front
June 9, 2015 @ 8:00 pm
£6
To say that this movie is one of the greatest war films of all time would be an understatement; a powerful story with great acting, cinematography and sincerity.
The film follows a group of German schoolboys talked into enlisting at the beginning of World War 1 by their jingoistic teacher. The story is told entirely through their experiences and highlights the tragedy of war through the eyes of individuals.
The film is not about heroism but about drudgery and futility and the gulf between the concept of war and the actuality
