The Ruts DC

The Ruts formed in 1977, on the front line of both punk and protest. Influenced by roots, punk, ska and reggae they burst on to the music scene with ‘In a Rut’ and had a top ten hit with ‘Babylon’s Burning’.

Now they are The Ruts DC and comprise original members ‘Segs’ Jennings (bass and lead vocal) and Dave Ruffy (drums), with Leigh Heggarty (guitar). In 2013 they released ‘Rhythm Collision 2’ and toured with The Damned. Today their music, improved with age and informed by loss, pounding, poignant and political, resonates with the same melody and power as ever.
