Wadworth Brewery Guided Tours

A visit steeped in local history & heritage…

Experience a full insight into the gravitational brewing process on one of our guided tours. Explore the traditional Victorian brewery which is still used today and is steeped in history. Gaze at our unique hand painted pub signs, and admire our beautiful working Shire Horses (should they not be on their annual holiday!). A tutored beer sampling session completes the experience, where you can enjoy and appreciate a selection of our wonderfully hand crafted cask ales.

Your journey begins with a steep climb to the top of the Victorian tower which follows the traditional brewing process down through each of the 4 floors. In complete contrast the next stop is the 21st century Copper House to see how technology has developed, followed by a short walk to visit Devizes’ most famous residents, our handsome working Shire horses*. Next we take a look around our in-house Sign Writing Studio where all the signs for our 240 pubs are hand painted in the traditional way. We then make our way back to the Visitor Centre Sample Bar for a tutored beer tasting session of our hand crafted ales.

Tours are conducted at 11am and 2pm Monday to Saturday, prices start from £6 for children (12+), £8.50 seniors (60+) and £10 for adults. **Our Shires will be earning their keep and will turn out at a number of Horse Shows & Pub Events throughout the year – therefore there may be occasions where the stables will be empty on a visit! For more information please contact us directly**

Locally hand made pork pie from Walter Rose & Sons of Devizes, Somerset Brie, Cheddar plus our very own 6X pickle, Bishop’s Tipple mustard or 6X ale chutney…all this for only £6.95 which includes a free 1/3 pint of your choice. Simply contact us if you wish to upgrade your booking, for bookings of 6 or more we kindly ask you to order in advance. (Available 12noon-4pm daily, subject to availability)

Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays are available for group bookings & special events.
